Kevin Sullivan

Mr. Kevin Sullivan, 66, of Lady's Island, SC, passed away on Thursday, October 7, 2021, at The Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center in Charleston, SC. Arrangements are entrusted to Allen Funeral Home of Beaufort. We welcome you to provide your thoughts and memories on our tribute wall.

Kevin Ellis Sullivan was born on August 15, 1955, in Brooklyn, New York. He was the son of Dorothy Sullivan and the late Clarence Sullivan. Kevin received his formal education in Brooklyn, New York public school system, where he graduated from East District High School in 1973.
Upon graduation, Kevin enlisted in U.S Marine Corps in June 1973, where he served his country until January 19, 1981. During his military term at Paris Island Marine Corps, Beaufort, SC, he met and married Philis Ann Sullivan, his wife of 45 years. From this union came two beautiful children: Kevin Tuvon and Phylicia.
While serving at Parris Island, Kevin Sr. was promoted to staff sergeant; and received three medals, National Defense Service Metal, Good Conduct Medal, and Meritorious Mast Award. Kevin also served as a Drill instructor and Head Manager of the Parris Island Exchange Stores. He was later discharged from the Marine Corps with honors. Kevin also worked in the Beaufort County community as a former Auditor at the Holiday Inn. 
On October 7, 2021, Kevin succumbed to his illness after a long battle at Veteran Affairs Hospital, Charleston, SC. He was preceded in death by his father Clarence (POP) Sullivan, brothers: Barry, Michael, Anthony, Eric, Patrick, and his sister Darlene.
He leaves to cherish his memory: His mother: Dorothy Sullivan of Brooklyn, NY, his loving and devoted wife Philis Ann Sullivan, son, Kevin Tuvon Sullivan (La’Shaun Janice) of Laurel Maryland, and daughter Phylicia Cook of Beaufort, SC, one brother, Glenn Sullivan (Paulette) of Brooklyn, NY; grand-children, Pharah and Jones Cook of Beaufort, SC, William, and Juliana of Belton, MD; aunts, Helen Williams (Leroy) of Hartford, Connecticut and Dorothy Smith of Waterloo, SC; grand-aunt, Carrie L. Darden; mother-in-law, Rosa Mae Gibbs and late father-in-law, Deacon Ben Gibbs Sr. of Beaufort, SC; brothers-in-law Herbert Lee Brown (Wanda) of Beaufort, SC, Benjamin Gibbs Jr. of Virginia; sisters-in-law, Judy Greene of Augusta, GA; Jessie White (Rick), Sharon Gibbs, Joyce Ham, and Ezetta Denise Gibbs, all of Beaufort, SC and a host of aunts and uncles-in-laws , nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends
