John Chaplin, 74, of St Helena Island, SC passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2021, at his residence. Arrangements are entrusted to Allen Funeral Home of Beaufort. We welcome you to provide your thoughts and memories on our tribute wall.
Brother John Mark Chaplin, who was also known as Bubba was born September 15, 1946, to the late John D. and Jannie S. Chaplin in St. Helena Island, SC. He attended the public schools of St. Helena Island and was a graduate of St. Helena high class of 1965. Shortly after graduating he joined the US Army as a PFC, where he was discharged with honors. He excepted Christ and joined St. Joseph Baptist Church and later became a faithful member of Faithful Christian Church where he served on the Usher’s board and the Christian Men fellowship. He was employed as a Mobile Home Transporter for many years.
He was united in holy matrimony to Ruth Chaplin in 1992. She preceded him in death on March 17, 1994.
Brother Chaplin wore many different hats. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He had a generous spirit and pleasant soul and was loved by many.
John Mark Chaplin was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 9, 2021. He is preceded in death by his Wife, Parents, a brother Ervin Chaplin and sister Alberta Adams.
He leaves to cherish his memories his two daughters, Monique Ratliff and Dominique Mcduffie both of Brooklyn, NY, five sisters, Helen C. Daise, Mary A. Bradley, Mary E. Milledge (John Milledge, Sr.), Martha L. Chaplin all of Beaufort, SC, Ruth Chaplin of New Jersey; one brother, Earl D. Chaplin of Beaufort, SC, three grandsons, one great granddaughter, a host of nieces, nephews, friends and special friends Leroy Chisolm and Vincent Green.
