Frankie Taylor Obituary

Frankie Lee Taylor, Native of Ridgeland, SC passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2021, at Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan, New York. Arrangements are entrusted to Allen Funeral Home of Ridgeland and are pending at this time. We welcome you to provide your thoughts and memories on our tribute wall.

 


Frankie Lee Taylor, was born on August 10, 1959 to Pearl Taylor in Ridgeland, SC. He graduated from H.E. McCracken High School in Bluffton, South Carolina in 1978. During his tenure he excelled in the marching band as a base drummer. Shortly after completing high school, Frankie moved to New York where he spent the majority of his adult life.
“Pokey” as he was affectionally called loved to have a good time, getting together with his family and was most often the life of the party. He always had funny stories to tell and kept everyone laughing. On Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan, New York, Frankie entered into eternal rest. Grandmother, Queen Taylor-Washington, and Uncles Reuben “Bee” Taylor Sr, and Freddie “Dan” Taylor. 
He leaves to cherish his memories: His mother Pearl and step-father Andrew Singleton Sr. of New York; Four sisters: Dottie Bolden of Bluffton, SC, Monique Singleton of Jacksonville, FL, Chee Singleton of Ridgeland, SC and Tracey Brown- Smith of Delaware; Four Brothers: Luther Taylor of Louisiana, LA, Andrew Singleton Jr of Ridgeland, SC, Jermaine “Couger” Singleton of Charlotte, NC, and Frankie Brown III of Baltimore, MD; one Aunt, Mary Gaston of Okatie, SC; Three Uncles, Wallace (Deloris) Taylor Sr. of New York, Harold “Joe” (Dorothy) Taylor of Hardeeville, SC, and Robert (Patricia) Taylor of Beaufort, SC; Special friends, Ben Brown and Lilly Bushrod both of New York; and host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
