Willie Battiste

Willie Battiste, 68, of Ridgeland, SC, passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2021, at MUSC in Charleston, SC.  Arrangements are Entrusted to Allen Funeral Home. We welcome you to provide your thoughts and memories on our Tribute Wall.   

Willie Battiste, Jr., the fourth child of the late Willie Sr. and Hilda Battiste was born April 25, 1952, in Ridgeland, SC. Willie received his formal education in the Jasper County public school system, graduating with the Class of 1971. 
Willie was employed by RainMaker on Hilton Head SC and Carolyn’s Landscaping of Hilton Head for many years. His most recent employment was with Palmetto Landscaping. Willie’s hobbies were buying cars and making sure they were clean and shining, he also enjoyed spending time with his family. Willie knew and loved the Lord. 
On Wednesday, February 17, 2021, at MUSC in Charleston, SC Willie was called from labor to reward. He was preceded in death by his parents: Willie, Sr. and Hilda Battiste; two sisters: Beatrice Emerson and Gloria Toomer; one brother: Tyrone Battiste. He will truly be missed by those who knew and loved him.
Willie leaves to cherish his memories: two sons: Deshawn (Janet) Burns, Sr, and Shawn Battiste; two grandchildren: Deshawn Burns, Jr. and Jordan Battiste; three sisters: Betty (George) Scantling, Shelia Battiste, and Marion Smalls all of Ridgeland, SC; two brothers: Henry (Sierra) Battiste and Rodney (Pam) Battiste raised in the home; three god sisters: Inette B. Cannick, Candy Green and Alisha Bolden all of Ridgeland, SC; two godbrothers: David Allen Battiste of Ridgeland, SC and William Tresevant of Lithonia GA; to include a host of nieces, nephew, cousins, other relatives, and loving friends.
