Dave Wilson Jr.

Mr. Dave Wilson Jr., 86, of Ridgeland, SC passed away on Jan. 5, 2021. Funeral Services are Entrusted to Allen Funeral Home of Ridgeland. We welcome you to provide your thoughts and memories on our Tribute Wall.

Dave Wilson Jr. (affectionately known as Bubba) was born March 31, 1934, to the late Dave Wilson Sr. and Louise Grant Wilson, in Ridgeland, S.C., where he spent his entire life.
He attended Jasper County Public School in Ridgeland S.C.
At an early age, Dave accepted Jesus Christ and was a member of Second Euhaw Baptist Church in Grahamville, S.C.
On September 30, 1955, Dave was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Virginia Orr Wilson. They were blessed with four children. Shortly, after marrying the love of his life, Dave was drafted and served two years in the U.S. Army.
Dave retired September 30, 1991 after serving 32 years as a Highway Maintenance Worker with the S.C. Department of Transportation.
One of Dave’s favorite hobbies was playing his guitar and singing the blues.  In his later years, you would see Dave sitting on his porch and waving to his family and friends as they walk or drove by. He also enjoyed watching old western movies and the Jerry Springer Show. 
However, the greatest love of all was spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. 
In his final years, his loving granddaughter Tynisha Jones (Pineapple) and her children (Lamont and Nyasha) whom he raised and considered as his daughter provided care for him along with Bertie Mae Cook (his sister-in-law).
On January 5, 2021, God called Dave from labor to rest. His oldest son, Charles, whom he cherished, preceded him in death.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his son Harold Wilson (Ridgeland), two daughters, Linda Sledge (Thomas) of Raleigh, N. C., and Eleanor Wilson of Fairfield, California. one daughter in law: Elnora Wilson (Charles, deceased), four surviving sisters Lucretia Habersham, Mildred Rhett, Nettie Ruth Heyward and Isabell Jones all of Ridgeland, SC, three sisters in law: Dorothy Mae Jenkins (Henry) of Edistol, Dorothy Wilson of Lawrenceville, VA and Thelma Wilson of Ridgeland, SC; six grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
 

DUE TO COVID-19, AND IN AN EFFORT TO FOLLOW CDC GUIDELINES, THE FAMILY ASKS THAT YOU REFRAIN FROM VISITING THEM AT THEIR HOMES, BUT KEEP THEM IN PRAYER. 

Visitation for Mr. Dave Wilson Jr. will be held Friday, January 8, 2021, at the Allen Funeral Home Chapel in Ridgeland from 4 PM to 6 PM, Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 9, 2021, at the Allen Funeral Home Complex in Ridgeland under the Canopy at 2 O'clock in the Afternoon, Burial will Follow in Grahamville Cemetery.
