Benjamin Graves, Jr. Obituary

Mr. Benjamin Graves, Jr. fondly known as “Junior”, son of the late Benjamin, Sr. and Rebecca “Mae” Graves was born May 8, 1937 in Pineland, South Carolina. He attended Robertsville School in Jasper County.
He became a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Pineland, South Carolina under the leadership of the late Reverend Thomas Dixon and later became a member of Faith Ministry Worship Center under the leadership of Reverend Bernard Taylor in Scotia, SC.
“Junior” was employed at Cypress Woods in Ridgeland, SC for over 20 years until
his health began to fail. He gained many friends throughout his employment who have remained faithful friends until this day. All that knew “Junior” considered him to be a kind and gentle spirit and willing to do all that he could to help others.
“Junior” will be truly missed by all that knew him, but we can always cherish the great memories we have in our hearts. “Junior” was devoted to his nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews as he watched them all grow from small children to adults. He was loving and kind and would never allow you to leave his presence empty-handed. He quietly departed this life Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at Hampton Regional Hospital in Hampton, SC. He was preceded in death by one brother, Wesley Graves.
His life will be forever cherished and remembered by his children: Kenneth (Joy) Searcy of Bethlehem, PA and Brenda Searcy of New York, NY; four grandchildren, Jamal, Deshawn, Christina and Victoria; nine great grandchildren, five sisters: Anna Keeling, Hazel Harmon, Mildred Graves all of Newark, NJ and Nancy Holder of Ridgeland, SC and his devoted caretaker, Daphine Graves along with one brother in law, Eugene Graves of Pineland, SC; one sister in law, Susiana Campbell of Pineland SC: a special nephew, Barry Graves of Goose Creek, SC, a special little girl who crept her way into his heart little Miss Briana Williams and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
