Allen C Heyward

Mr. Allen Heyward, 61, Of Hardeeville, SC., passed away November 16, 2020, at St. Joseph's Candler Hospital in Savannah, GA. Allen Funeral Home of Ridgeland assisting the family. 

Allen Clayton Heyward Sr. was born to the late Isaac Williams and Johnnie Mae Heyward-Gray at Jasper County General Hospital in Ridgeland, SC on September 26, 1959. Allen was raised by his late grandparents Richard and Mabel Simmons-Heyward. On Monday, November 16, 2020, Allen departed this life at St. Joseph’s Candler Hospital in Savannah, GA at the age of 61. 

Allen spent some earlier years in New Haven, Ct. and later graduated from Ridgeland High School in 1978. In June of 1980, Allen married the love of his life Patricia Ann Gadson and in this union, three children were born. In later years Allen met the late Karen Major, and in this relationship one son was born. Allen worked his earlier years at Certain Teed, Katalistcs, and Dumtar Inc in Savannah, Ga, and later as an owner/skilled carpenter with A&B / A&J Construction in the Low Country and Coastal Empire areas.                                                      

  In Allens’ earlier years he was an active member of Lovely Hill Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Alston and recently joined as a dedicated member of Hardeeville Full Gospel Deliverance Ministries Inc. under the leadership of Apostle Dr. Michael and Dr. Roleatha Brown. He enjoyed sports, fishing, dancing, and spending time with his family and friends.    

  Allen leaves to cherish fond memories of him; his children mother, Patricia Ann Gadson of Ridgeland, SC; his loving children, Isaac and Shea Heyward of Charlotte, N.C., Ivy Heyward of Ridgeland, S.C., Pamela Heyward of Charlotte, N.C., and Allen C. Heyward Jr of Beaufort, S.C.; grandchildren, Jonathan James Carter, Isaiah Jaden Heyward, Talia Marie Heyward, Allena Jade Heyward, and with him in heaven Brayden Omar Johnson; one loving sister, Felicia Gray of New Haven, Connecticut; four sister in laws, Gloria Gadson of Ridgeland, SC, Johnnetta Gadson of Raleigh, NC, Sandra (Andrew) Proctor of Ridgeland , SC, and Regina (Michael) McCombs of Norfolk, Va; aunts, Ruby Simmons-Washington of Florence, S.C., Mary, Dorothy, and Telia Heyward of New Haven, Connecticut, Mary Solomon and Diane Heyward of Ridgeland, S.C.; uncle, Alfred Heyward of Ridgeland, S.C.; one loving mother in law Joan Burnette Gadson of Ridgeland, S.C.; uncle/best friend John Wrice-Dorothy Powell of Levy, S.C.; two loving godchildren, Saundria Wrice of Ridgeland, S.C. and Ronald “Spike” Williams Jr. of Hardeeville, S.C.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
