James Edward Rhett Obituary


James Edward Rhett was born February 14, 1934 to John White, Sr. and Pearlie Rhett -White in Jasper County. James lived a full 84 years. 
James received his education in Jasper County school system. After graduating, James joined the United States Army. He faithfully served his country for numerous years. After his tenue with the military he returned home and began working various jobs. He had a passion was traveling the countryside and fishing. James loved working on “shrimp boats” and riding his bike even as his health began to decline. He also had a great love for his family. 
On Wednesday June 27, 2018 at Bayview Manor in Beaufort, SC James Edward Rhett departed from his earthly life. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Jamie King.
James leaves to cherish his unforgettable memories, two sons, Don King of Ridgeland, SC and Nathaniel Hicks of East Orange, NJ; to cherish their memories of childhood to adulthood are his loving brothers and sisters, John (Elizabeth) White, Jr., Nathaniel White, Ricky Lee White, Earl (Gail) White, Johnny Lee White, Francina White, Louvenia (Randolph) Shuler and Easter Mae Cannick all of Ridgeland, SC; four grandsons; seven great grandchildren;  also a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends to include a special friend that shared his presence, Linda Williams.
