Isiah Jones

Brother Isaiah Jones was born on April 5, 1944 in Ridgeland, SC to his parents Mattie Jones and the late Isaac Jones. 

Isaiah graduated from Jasper County High School in 1962. He served in the United States Army for two years. Following service to his country he married Mary Jones in 1968. Isaiah joined the Jersey City Police Department in 1979 and served for 25 years in the South district. Isaiah retired in 2004 and relocated home to South Carolina where he enjoyed fishing, traveling and spending lots of time with his family and friends. He really enjoyed singing and he was an active member of the Second Euhaw Baptist Church Senior Choir and the Male Chorus.

On Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center in Charleston, SC. Isaiah transition from labor to reward. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Earl Isaac Jones.

Isaiah leaves to cherish memories of him his beloved mother, Mattie Jones of Ridgeland, SC; his wife, Mary Jones of Jersey City, New Jersey; six daughters, Cheryl Jenkins (Rev. Benjamin Jenkins), Michelle Hicks of Atlanta, GA, Octavia Jones, Lawanda Jones-Ford, Ivy Jones of Jersey City, NJ and Krystal Jones of Orlando, Florida; two loving sisters, Jerilene McNair of Ridgeland, SC and Elizabeth Rivers of Staten Island, New York; two sons, Keith Jones and Kevin Gertrude of Jersey City, NJ; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren; one uncle, Louis Hugee of New York, NY; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and two very special friends, Barry Bolden and Shirley Cameron. Brother Isaiah will be missed dearly.
